Ways of Seeing: An Artist’s SamplerFall 2017
with Brenda Gott
Channel the creative vision of artists from the past, as we explore why they used certain colors, followed certain rules, and portrayed people, objects, and nature in their own unique ways. Experience for yourself the varied approaches they used, as we create some of our own fun and expressive works of art. We will experiment with a wide variety of media, including colored pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and collage. You may find yourself painting a colorful acrylic landscape one week, and working on a delicate watercolor flower the next. Each class will be a new adventure in exploring a particular artist, style, or medium. No previous art experience of any kind is required. All materials included. Local artist Brenda Gott has been sketching and painting the natural world for over twenty years. She brings her love of art history, and of the creative process to this chance to sample art from many perspectives. She welcomes your questions at 564-3643.
