Organizations: Development & Operation Using Complexity Sciences Spring 2017
with Alder Stone Fuller
The complexity sciences that study complex adaptive systems both living and non-living represent a revolution in the sciences. The paradigm shift is on par with relativity theory and quantum physics. But the principals involved are far easier for non-scientists to grasp, and are crucial for understanding virtually any complex adaptive system, whether living or not. This seminar will explain basic principles of complexity sciences applied to human organizations, companies, corporations, non-profits and institutions. The format is a mixture of lectures, videos and teleconferences, along with selected readings and discussions of the book Surfing the Edge of Chaos: The Laws of Nature and The New Laws of Business by Richard T. Pascale et al (2000).
