It’s in the Cards
with Brenda Gott
Join in, as we explore the fascinating mythology, symbolism, and artwork of the tarot cards. This is not fortune telling, but rather a chance to experience more contemporary uses of the cards, involving self discovery, storytelling, creative writing, and brainstorming new ideas. In this class, we will concentrate on exploring the traditional meanings of the cards, and relating them to modern themes, characters, and experiences. The fun class exercises are designed to provide practice in card reading, through a process of discussion, journaling, and role playing. As always, beginners are welcome, and card decks will be available for use during class. More experienced tarot readers may find this to be a useful opportunity for expanding their knowledge of the cards, and for developing a more intuitive reading style. If you have ever wanted to learn how to read the tarot cards, or to better understand them, come along on this mystical journey of discovery, and see what’s in the cards for you! With a background in social and behavioral science, local artist Brenda Gott has a deep appreciation for stories of the human experience, as told in folklore and myth. For over twenty years she has studied the history and artwork of the tarot cards, and enjoys sharing their creative insights.
