It's in the Cards Fall 2017

$39

with Brenda Gott

Calendar Sep 28, 2017 at 5 pm

Join in as we explore the fascinating mythology, symbolism, and artwork of the tarot cards. This is not fortune telling, but rather a chance to experience some of the more modern uses of the cards, including self-discovery, meditation, artistic inspiration, storytelling, creative writing, and brainstorming new ideas. A selection of card decks will be available for use during class exercises, where we will learn how to read the symbolic “language” of the tarot, and how to build meaningful storylines from combinations of cards. There will be plenty of opportunity during class to develop your card reading skills, to practice your storytelling ability, and to have fun sharing your ideas and insights with others. We will even experiment with creating some of our own symbols and card designs. Whether you are a beginner, or already have some experience with tarot cards, come along on this mystical journey into creativity and imagination; and see what’s in the cards for you! With a background in social and behavioral science, local artist Brenda Gott has a deep appreciation for stories of the human experience, as told in folklore and myth. For over twenty years she has studied the history and artwork of the tarot cards, and enjoys sharing their creative insights.
